Florence - Day 1 - The Duomo and David

Our gorgeous little pensione - which is in a 16th century palazzo (note the frescoe on the wall behind Chris)
The view from our bedroom window
Strolling along the Arno River towards the Ponte Vecchio
The Ponte Vecchio behind us - lots of little gold and jewellery shops - it was packed with tourists though so we didn't stay long!
Some interesting bags we saw at a leather shop - not sure that Tess would quite fit in there!
Enjoying some lunch in a little back alley wine bar - freshly made pasta - delicious!
Florence's Duomo - spectacular!
.....and from another perspective
We walked through this piazza on the way back from seeing Michaelangelo's David. No pics I'm afraid as we weren't allowed to take cameras in there. Needless to say it was amazing to see what is probably the world's most famous sculptures in the flesh!
How could I resist?!
The scary little lift that takes us up to our pensione. It's ancient and absolutely tiny!
